Each portrait is painted on a 2ft by 2ft gallery wrapped canvas with the highest quality materials. These portraits are given to the K9 handlers who served and worked with these incredible dogs, and some were able to adopt their K9 partner at the end of deployment. The final portrait image is used for the reverse side of the future challenge coin. These challenge coins are in production. Depending on when you Buy It Now, turnaround time may be up to three weeks. I have just ordered another 100. This photo was direct from the factory, so I don't have a great photo YET. Each coin is 1.75" in diameter, 3.5mm thick, raised stamping, silk screening and epoxy on the forward side (raised glass effect), raised relief metal on the back. Each coin comes with the blue display box with The K9 Hero Portrait Project logo stamped on it, and a 4 x 6" glossy note card with Gabe's info (see below), perfect for gift giving. The painting is the actual completed painting given to SSGT Charles Shuck of the United States Army. Gabe is the first of many K9 Heroes that will be depicted on the K9HPP challenge coin fundraiser. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE CHALLENGE COIN SALES GOES TOWARDS PAINTING MORE PORTRAITS FOR SOLDIER, HANDLERS, & THEIR FAMILIES. The portrait time and cost is out of pocket for me so the coin sales cover the material, time, shipping, name plates, etc. The challenge coins are the only way I can continue to paint the K9 Heroes for these incredible service men and women. Please help support the K9 Hero Portrait Project continue to paint portraits and to present them to their handlers. If you look us up you will see some of the comments that the soldiers and police officers who have received a portrait have to say, what it means to them and to their families (especially if the portrait is a memorial). Within the next few weeks, I will have seven more additional K9 Hero challenge coins up for offer (MWD Max K316, SSD Jony, CWD Narnia EDD, MWD Niko N352, MWD Rronnie J532, MWD Suzi F159, Police K-9 Zeke).
